Scott Moore

Scott Moore is Executive Director of CBC Sports and General Manager of CBC’s Media Sales & Marketing department.
He has been one of Canada’s top television producers and executives for the last 20 years, and his expertise in major sports productions is sought worldwide. Scott served as vice-president of CTV Sportsnet (subsequently Rogers Sportsnet) from 1998 to 2003, as well as executive producer with TSN and with CTV as executive producer, Olympic Coverage. He was involved in Olympics coverage for CBC, CTV, TSN, the IOC and NBC, where he won an Emmy Award for his work during the Seoul Games. Among his other successes was the launch of the Outdoor Life Network in 1997.
In 2004, Scott produced the CBC program Making the Cut, a unique sports-themed docu-reality series. He was contracted to provide host broadcast services to the 2006 Torino Olympic Winter Games, the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the 2006 Asian Games in Qatar.
In addition to his Emmy Award for the Seoul Olympics, Scott has received the 2005 Jack Webster Award for Excellence in Legal Journalism and a Justicia Award for Legal Programming for the innovative Crime on the Street, a two-part series on CBC Newsworld. He was awarded a Gemini Award for coverage of the World Figure Skating Championships and was nominated two other times, for Making the Cut and the Canada Cup of Hockey.
In addition to his role of executive director, CBC Sports, in 2009 Moore took over the role of general manager of CBC’s Media Sales & Marketing department, overseeing a staff of 230 people located across the country..
